I think I speak for most bloggers when I say we love a good desk set up, stationary and any kind of space to get our hands on to redecorate. I’m constantly looking at areas of my house thinking, ok can I get away with yet another cute candle? Probably yes.
I’ve been getting so many lovely messages over on my Instagram about my lovely new desk setup, which yes – I’m friggin’ in love with. So of course I’m going to share with you in this blog post all of the details of where the products are from and where I got some of my inspo from!
When it comes to lifestyle or homeware inspo, Pinterest is my absolute go-to. Pinterest is also starting to learn more and more about what I like so chances are I open the app, I know I’m either going to see a cute desk or garden setup with fairy lights and candles, photos of puppies or fitness videos. Yes that’s also basically my life summed up there too. As a lot of you will know from my blog I’m a huge fan of Scandinavian Interior Design, lots of grey textures, wood flooring, plants (heaps of plants) and pastel shades to mix in. Come and follow me on Pinterest to take a look at what I’m planning next and a few links to some of my fave inspo -> Yasmin xo
One of the first products that I wanted to get sorted of course was the desk! I know where I trust with cheap and cheerful furniture – good old IKEA! This desk is the MICKE Desk in white and is painful to put together, I had to YouTube the instructions because I had put the drawers in the wrong way! However despite all of this I think it’s a brilliant desk. I have so much more space on my desk I can put my printer up, have my laptop and film with my camera equipment all on one space – winning!
I actually really hate buying desk chairs, they either look amazing and not comfortable or really comfy but looks like you’re in a office space from 1972 (not Instagram worthy). I managed to pick up this beautiful pink chair from Kmart, and it’s velvet so you just want to hug the chair whilst you’re sitting on it. It was a little risky with the height of the desk so I’d recommend taking a tape measure to make sure it’ll fit. Lucky I had my lovely friend Elisa with a tape measure handy 🙂
I’m currently using an Apple Macbook Pro 15 inch with Retina Display, I’ve had this laptop for over 3 years now and it still manages okay with my YouTube editing! I’m not sure where I’d be without my laptop <3
Again, cheeky Kmart, it’s super fluffy – very scandi.
One of my candles is from Kmart again (basically Aussie Primark I would say!) and the other is from IKEA and smells of ice cream – yum.
A cute desk isn’t a cute desk without some fairy lights. I grabbed these from Kmart which are battery powered so that you don’t have a million wires running everywhere and I keep the battery box tucked inside the drawer so you can’t see it 🙂 you can pretty much grab fairy lights from Primark, Tesco anywhere these days!
The roll under drawers I wanted to get because I have so much makeup that I use for my YouTube videos and I also get products to review so I have different drawers for each purpose and they make the room look so much neater because you can’t see them and I don’t have to hunt around to try and find my blue glitter eyeliner that I used once 5 years ago. These are from IKEA 🙂
I hope you liked this blog post, feel free to drop me a message in the comments I’d love to hear from you. I’ll also be putting up a video on my YouTube channel of my full desk and blogging set up next week so make sure you’re subscribed to my channel so you don’t miss out!
I hope you have a fab week, lots of love,
