Whether you’re 5, 15, 25 or 55 a face mask will always make you feel pampered and like the queen you really are. Perfect for a night in with the girls or prepping for a night out in the city, nothing quite beats a cheeky face mask.
Being a beauty blogger I’m always looking out for the latest beauty products on the market, especially natural based products that are safe for your skin. I’ve been lucky enough to have been gifted the urban defence purifying pink clay mask by Generation Clay.
The product is made from 100% Pure Australian Botanicals and aims to purify, illuminate, refine and brighten your skin. The urban defence pink clay mask contains Kakadu plum, a natural source of Vitamin C to help brighten skin with added Vitamin A to help prevent skin ageing.
I always apply face masks with a wet brush as it makes the product easier to apply, layer up and less mess. When I first applied the product one of the first things I noticed was the smell, it definitely has a light smell of clay, which I actually really like. It smells so natural with also a hint of Rose – loveeely.
It was really easy to apply, you can instantly notice the clay on your skin as it goes on a dark pink colour. After a few minutes, you start to see the mask drying and the clay turns from a dark pink to a light pink colour. The way that the product dries is perfect as it gives you the opportunity to layer the product up if you want a thicker consistency. I did find however that I didn’t need to layer up this face mask as it was a thicker consistency than I initially thought – yay!
I left the clay mask on for 10 minutes, I had a naughty chocolate biscuit and a cup of tea whilst I waited for it to dry. Also by this point, my face had gone from a dark pink to a light pink and my boyfriend came upstairs, not sure whether to ask “what are you doing to your face?” in case it was a new approach to my make up, haha.
When washing off the face mask, I was really surprised how easy it came off. I’ve had a lot of experiences with peel-off face masks which can sometimes be harsh and painful, as I have sensitive skin and usually leaves my face feeling sore. The urban defence mask came off with a couple of splashes of warm water and left my skin feeling hydrated, clean and visibly brighter.
After trying the product for a few weeks now I can safely say it’s made it onto my favourites list and it’s a must-have for my evening pamper routine. I would highly recommend this product and I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether you’ve tried it yet. Generation Clay also has a wider range of products including the Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask and Detoxifying Charcoal Clay Mask which you can check out on their website here.
